Abstract

|
The purpose of this study is to examine psychiatric comorbidity among new patients visiting the child & adolescent psychiatry department at the Chungnam National University Hospital for 18 years. The authors reviewed a total of 8,916 outpatients visiting the department first by DSM-IV-TR or ICD-10. The results are as follows: 1. By age group, 1,467 patients were included in the 0 to 3 age group; 2,880 patients in the 4 to 7 age group; 3,045 patients in the 8 to 13 age group; 1,047 patients in the 14 to 16 age group; 477 patients in the 17 or above age group. 2. The total number of diagnoses for 8,916 patients is 10,825 and the mean diagnosis per patient is 1.21. 3. The frequencies of psychiatric diagnoses are ADHD(1,815/16.77%), MR(1,503/13.88%), ASD(1,128/10.42%), Tic disorders(733/6.77%), and DLD(726/6.71%).
